In 2018, Scynge Xing collaborated with Chow Tai Fook to create The Goblet for its New York · New York jewelry collection. The collection brought together four Chinese artists from New York art schools and was presented during New York Fashion Week that September.
A Line
The design begins with a spatial question: within a single cubic centimetre, how might a line exist? Overlapping and intersecting lines form an openwork structure. The Goblet connects this exploration with wine, fermentation and the cultural meanings of Dionysus.
Identity note
Scynge Xing is the historical name used for this collaboration. The artist now works professionally as Sing Xing.
